Well I am happy to announce that we have successfully purchased our first two train tickets.
I have booked the train from Toledo to Madrid and from Madrid to Seville.
I was so pleased that I managed to book using the Renfe website, although we did miss out on special fares and had to pay €83 for the ticket to Seville, but it is a fast train, so it will be a great experience.
I will book tickets to Granada on Friday and continue to purchase the rest of the tickets when it is 62 days out from our travel date.
It is so exciting, I just love organizing travel :-)

8 weeks to go & it's time to start booking train tickets
It is now just 8 weeks to go until we head off on our trip. The planning phase is well and truly coming to an end, we now only have to book our train tickets and we are pretty much set to go.
On Monday or Tuesday next week I will be able to book our first tickets. The Renfe website only allows tickets to be booked up to 62 days in advance.
Our first tickets will be from Toledo to Madrid and then Madrid to Seville.
I look forward to hopefully conquering the Renfe website as it is notoriously difficult to use, so fingers are crossed that it will be a smooth process.
I will no doubt put a post up on Monday or Tuesday once I've booked the first tickets - wish me luck

Adios Mirtha
Well after 3 weeks of Spanish classes we have decided that learning Spanish is not really for us and have decided to say Adios to Mirtha.
The class would be really good for someone who is wanting to fully learn the language but for us it was starting to feel like a bit of a chore.
Given we have been to Spain before we really just wanted to learn some basics to help us be able to communicate a little better with the locals. After 3 weeks of classes and learning how to say words like Astronaught and unicorn in Spanish we both felt that things were not really going in the right direction for us.
We checked out the Internet and have found some websites that seem a little more appropriate for us to use to learn some basic greetings, food, directions and simple phrases that will come in handy for travel.
We found that we did get a bit of value out of the class with helping pronounce words, so that is a bonus. But overall, it became a little annoying and thus decided to call it a day.
I don't think we will struggle with language and only time will tell to see if we made the right decision.
It is 11 weeks until we go and we are counting down the days - yay!
